Stash is the app for everyday savings, with the option to set targets for your savings. Every time you make a saving, you can stash it. This could be a regular saving or one-off, it doesn’t matter. For example it could be a regular saving like walking or cycling to work instead of using public transport or making a coffee at work or home instead of buying an overpriced coffee in a plastic cup at a generic / hipster coffee shop. A one-off saving could be buying a second hand mobile phone instead of a new one.
We all have our own unique ways we could make savings and cut costs in our lives. We’re excited to see what you come up with.
Often it helps if you have a target in order to really help push you to make savings. These targets can be short or long term. This may be saving for a deposit on a house, a car (go electric) or simply a night out at the end of the week. You can create as many targets as you like but we recommend only having a few long term targets.
When you do create a saving that occurs on a repeat basis, you will get a notification at the specific time you have created it. For example, one of the team, has an every day reminder for 7.30 in the morning where he can choose to wear glasses instead of disposable contact lenses which saves him £1 at a time.
You can choose to either delete or save a saving from the notification without having to open the app.
Another team member has a monthly saving on rent as he has decided to live at home to help save towards a deposit for a house. This is naturally a far larger saving per month. However, remember small or big, these changes quickly add up and make a real difference.
We believe that in this society of waste, debt fuelled consumerism and rising costs, we need to create a more sustainable system. We have to make a change. Small or big, your savings have an impact and as a collective movement those savings can help change the world.
